Every time I travel in Indian Railways, I wonder had British not ruled India for 200 odd years could we had such an amazing gigantic railway network.
Of all the things they have looted us off, Railways is one of the precious gifts given by the British Empire.
But, nothing ever can beat one thing they have instilled so deep into the veins of our political system. The policy of “divide and rule“.
A time tested, invaluable, simple tool which has worked amazingly in favor of every successful political outfit, every leader and the governments in power.

They divided Hindu‘s and Muslims, worked for them, stills works for most. Then people tried to divide Sikh from most of us.
And this policy, still persists deep within our system. Dividing us on languages. Asking questions “Mumbai kiska?“ to people who have dreamt of Mumbai all their life. We are divided by rivers, dams, mountains of all the things.
And just when the nation was uniting with a cause to fight against corruption. Then BHAM. We are divided again. When the issue to be discussed has to be corruption, we've been divided by the politicians again by diverting the topic to reservation.
Well played.
